Lavender Graduation

Academic and Leadership Diversity Graduation Stole Nomination Form for Spring 2014

Honoring the achievements of our diverse student populations at New Mexico State University is the driving force behind the Lavender Graduation Academic and Leadership Diversity Stole. The Lavender Graduation ceremony is a tradition that was established by the Sexual and Gender Diversity Resource Center in the spring of 2010.

Rainbow-colored Academic and Leadership Diversity Stoles are awarded to graduating students (Bachelors, Masters, or Doctoral) who are in the GLBTQ and Ally community, and who have excelled academically and/or have displayed exemplary leadership qualities on campus or in the community.

All nominees receiving a stole will be recognized at the Lavender Graduation Ceremony being held on May 2, 2014 at 5 p.m. at the NMSU Golf Course Club House. Nominators will be required to purchase their nominees ticket to the banquet. Tickets will be on sale starting April 7, 2014 online through Shop Cart. To purchase tickets or Diversity Stoles by cash or check, please contact Carla in the Office of Student Diversity and Outreach, Garcia Annex Room 235.

For a student to be fully considered for this honor, the nomination form  must be completed in full and submitted. Nominees will be notified via email if awarded an Academic and Leadership Diversity Stole.
